Von diesen innern Blumenblattern erscheinest; einige nur bin und wieder, der aussern, in Einer Reihe stehenden Blumenblatter find gewobnlich nur acht. Zwey innere konnen die zehnsache Anzahl Voll machen. Der Fruchtknoten hat bis an die Kelcheinsas sung das Ansehen einer gestutzten Birn. Innerhalb des Kelches erhebt fich aus dieser Abstutzung eine kurze dicke Saule, die fich unten mit einem ebnen polsterartigen Fusse ausbreitet, oben aus eine ahn liche Art, nur weit dicker, in acht, dicht anein ander gedrangte, kuglige, von beiden Seiten zu sammengedriickte Lappen anschwillt. Die hieraus entstehende achtlappigeNarbehat ein blasseres Griin, als die Saule, fie ist aber eben so bereist, wie diese, ausser in dem eigentlichen Narbenselde jedes Lap pens, welches nicht leb. . .
