David Walton graduated in Modern Languages at University College, London, and undertook further studies at the University of Florence and at Trinity College of Music. He worked for some years as a Civil Servant, notably at the port of Folkestone, where he became very familiar with cross-Channel ferries between England and France. Book includes translations in Spanish and Catalan.
