During this professional life, I could experience the decline of fish resources specially during stocks assessments surveys on the Research vessel Dr Fridtjoff Nansen .Having acquired this experience and knowledge not only in Africa, in Europe, Asia, my only wish was to share with not only professionals and students, but also decision makers. I may confess that many decison makers due to poor knowledge of what is happening at sea in terms of discards, habitats and sea bed destruction after each haul would hardely take the necessary decision against fish trawling.
