Let us endeavour to comfort and brighten each others' journey through life. If we can innocently amuse, cheer and instruct, those around us, we know it will not be in vain, for we believe in many instances laughter is better than medicine; and, that we need not have a long face in order to be virtuous. Would we reap happiness? let us in faith and hope sow seeds of loving kindness - sow to the spirit "for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." To the parents, children, young men, maidens, husbands and wives of Great Britain may I be permitted humbly to dedicate this small volume of poems, hoping they may prove acceptable, pleasant and profitable, to many.
