The crossing of the threshold to the new millennium was a historical occasion for progressing into a new era of global conflict resolution that has been ignored so far. Enforcing negotiated solutions sounds like a contradiction in term, due to its implication of using force in order to bring about negotiated solutions in the Middle East and elsewhere in the world. Yet the use of force should be understood here as the use of a previous strategic concept for conflict resolution intended to bring about future oriented sustainable strategies in the shape of negotiated conflict resolution. In other words diplomatic, economic and political strategies can be supported by coercive forms of specific military strategy in order to force conflict partners to force themselves to adopt the negotiated conflict resolution strategy at the exclusion of violent military conflict resolution strategies.
