Neuware - Deutsch: High Tension ist eine deutsche Heavy Metal Band, welche im Frühjahr 1980 von Armin Weisshaar, Tommy Dierstein und Joe Weisshaar gegründet. In den Anfangszeiten von HIGH TENSION standen natürlich hauptsächlich regionale Live-Auftritte im Vordergrund. Die Band entwickelte sich dadurch aber zum süddeutschen Insider-Tip und so kam es Anfang 1985 zu einem Plattenvertrag mit dem GAMA Musikverlag. Die erste LP erschien im Oktober 1985 unter dem Titel 'Warrior' (Hot Blood Records, No. 941315 / Vertrieb Intercord). Im Jahre 1985 befand sich der klassische Heavy Metal ja auf seinem absoluten Höhepunkt - Anfang 1986 verliess dann Drummer Dirk Beermann die Band, doch in Marco Roth aus der benachbarten Alpenrepublik fand man schnell einen passenden Nachfolger, dessen präzises Drumspiel man auch gleich beim 1986er Nachfolger 'Under Tension' bestaunen konnte. High Tension haben alles was eine gute Band ausmacht und 'Under Tension' bietet alles, was eine gute Scheibe ausmacht. Power, ein Gefühl für Melodien aber auch Songs die straight nach vorne dreschen, wenn's denn sein soll. Die Gitarrenarbeit ist durchweg solide und technisch haben die Jungs auf der Scheibe einiges zu bieten. Songs wie 'Rock'n Roll Rebel' ein Titel mit Hymnencharakter 'Lady' ein Losgehsong erster Güte aber auch 'Burning Heart', eine im Midtempo gehaltene Ballade, bei der alle Register gezogen werden. Verhallte Gitarren, Moll-Akkorde, effektvolle Breaks und Gitarrenfills. was will man mehr. Im selben Jahr ging die Band dann auf ausgedehnte Deutschland Tour mit der englischen Frauenpowerband 'Girlschool' und bestritt weitere Gigs u.A. mit 'Victory'. 1987 folgte dann das dritte Werk von High Tension mit dem Titel 'Masters of Madness' sowie eine ausgedehnte Tour mit der schottischen Hardrockband 'Nazareth'.
