Ludovick Simon Mwijage is a law graduate of the University of Wolverhampton, England. He was born in Bukoba, Tanzania, where from 1974 to 1983 he worked as both a teacher and as head teacher. Because he advocated political reform, he was detained without trial following his abduction from exile in Swaziland by Tanzanian government agents in December 1983. He was released in April 1985 due to failing health and banished to his home village.
