The choice to destroy the constructed image, to offer it up as sacrifice at the altar of photographic perpetuation, raises questions about the very Status of the image, about the sovereignty of its creator, and about the unresolved interaction between culture and nature, between man-made objects (technique, creation) and natural ones. At the saure time, "eliminating" all physical traces and leaving behind only a photographic testament also speaks of death and life; of what had been and in moments of grace in the company of the photograph, also of what is yet to come.
