Time traveling from the Orwellian world of 2032 is forbidden. But this doesn't stop Emma, twin brother Ethan, and their special friend Zak from hijacking a time machine - destination 1932. Four years earlier, at the age of seventeen, they embarked on a failed mission to save the life of Jack Kennedy. Now they are attempting to exhume Franklin D. Roosevelt. His political life and the future of American democracy drowned in the swamplands of Washington D.C. that steamy, violent night of the Bonus March Massacre. The squatter camp is a "Hooverville"- a chaotic quilt of canvas, cardboard, and straw that barely shelters 20,000 World War I unemployed veterans. Emma, Ethan and Zak share a Great Depression night with Sweeny family. Their hovel floats on the muddy, sweltering "flats" located a few blocks from the nation's capital. The veterans demand release of bonus money promised by Congress. Sadly, Emma knows their plea will be rejected. Next morning, the travelers hear General Smedley Butler deliver a rousing speech. Jack Travers, a suave, handsome, smooth-talking advance man for FDR is also taking notes. Pretty and innocent, Emma gets his attention. Soon, she opens the door, and he eagerly slides into her world. She demands his help. He secures a meeting with Mrs. Roosevelt. Can she have FDR intervene? Emma makes her pitch. Eleanor Roosevelt is impressed. Jack makes his move. Emma and Jack fall in love. For the moment, Emma's plan is working. But soon Emma is weakened by a deadly 1932 disease, and FDR offers no help, and MacArthur's army launches a surprise night attack. The camp erupts into panic and flames. This night, July 28, 1932, the time travelers must stop the massacre, the martial law, and the abandonment of American democracy, to save FDR's presidency. Note: this book is for adults and young adults, but not children.

There's something in this fantastic tale. for everyone!" - Goodreads Mama Bear -"If time travel, assassination, history and conspiracies don't get you hooked then I honestly don't know what will." - Daniel Pearson -The LL Book Review -"This is a great book for both adult, teens" -Rita Reviews-Interloping time travelers from the year 2028-Emma, a dynamic seventeen year old; Ethan, her impulsive twin brother; Zak, a very special best friend, and their time travel guide, Dr. Currant-an eccentric, well-preserved "baby boomer" inventor-spin back the clock to stop the Chicago assassination of President Kennedy and resurrect the American Dream. This is a time-traveling road show filled with nostalgia and nastiness, fact and fantasy, and hope for the future. By 2028, decades of official denial and concealment have left Americans with an empty shell of a country constructed on a foundation of a fictional history. But the quartet from the future is determined to rework the past to make their world a better place. They leave the monotonous madness of the year 2028, a dystopia-utopia, a time of no privacy, and total government control-and experience the joy, sadness and danger of an earlier, bolder era filled with hope for the future. On the way, they meet Ferrie, Banister, Oswald, the mysterious Umbrella Man, the Three Tramps and other conspiratorial characters. As they travel in the bizarre, bloody world of 1960's American politics, their retro-quest to rescue JFK exposes a stunning new view of the "Crime of the Century".Based on the actual facts of the Kennedy assassination in Dallas and the recently discovered JFK precursor plot, often called the "JFK Chicago Attempt".
