Der Wolf findet sich dagegen, bis auf einige wenige Ausnahmen, nur noch in Tierparks als lebendes Tier in Deutschland. Während der Frühen Neuzeit war dies anders. Der Werwolf wurde als eine echte Bedrohung angesehen, die es zu bekämpfen galt, und auch der Wolf war im deutschen Raum verbreitet und wurde gejagt.
