It is about 4 miles in width at the lower end, and extends for about 7 miles in length, becoming narrower as it approaches the upper end. Most of this district is under 100 feet in elevation above sea level. Another district, roughly 10 miles square, and lying in the southern part of the county, is known as the Montezuma Hills. It is quite rolling in topography, with elevations up to about 250 feet, and is extensively used for grain production. A third district, contiguous to Vacaville, is noted for fruit production. A fourth includes an area about 12 miles square in the vicinity of Dixon, which is largely used for alfalfa, grain and field crops.
